If Twitter is a work necessity

Did you see this article in NYT special section "Contiuning Education" last Thursday?

  1. This is such an interesting article. I can totally relate to Eileen McMaster, not to mention she is from North Babylon, like me. With all the classes being offered it seems there is a demand for those who need to "catch up" with social media in today's workforce. Nice mention of NYU's continuing education courses in social media.

  2. In the world of social media, you guys are blogging pros at this point in time. The more you post and respond, the more natural the blogging process will become. Next up: Twitter. I'll be sharing the directions later this evening.

  4. In January, I attended the social media weekend at Columbia that Jen writes about in this article. The conference was awesome. There were some great speakers and tricks of the trade. I look forward to NYU's social media event later this year!

  6. Absolutely. And as the headline says, "If Twitter is a work necessity," let's follow that up with this: " ... then, let's make it a PR2.0 class necessity."

I'm @EFChandler. @JohnDavidBrown2 hopped on this morning. Our class hashtag is #nyupr20

  7. Thanks Katja for the great article! I liked especially the idea with the "doctors" that were advising people how to improve their profiles ( LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter) from the January workshop on social media. Eric, do you think we can apply the idea to some of our next classes? I think it would be cool to have an analysis on our LinkedIn profiles for example, I know that class is coming up soon - just a suggestion.

  8. It is amazing how what was seen as a revolutionary business tool happens to be a revolution for the entire society. We can talk about social media as a business perspective just like we can talk about it as a new way to connect with each other. I don't know of any other practice that becomes so global culturally, professionally, and personally!
